Animation and multimedia is a fun way for an artist to express their artwork and stories. There is a lot that you have to do to make a basic animation. First thing you need is to purchase some kind of animation software. As you can image there are plenty to explore and purchase. The most popular for making games is adobe flash and it is very useful for animations as well. Mainly because of its many easy built in feature like the bone which makes a simulation of body movement. Seventy five percent of the games on the internet are made with adobe flash. It is also good for animation because it is so easy to import music, videos and 3D animation from other software that supports SWF movies. SWF means shockwave flash. You can also convert for your movie to YouTube with a convert that would convert your SWF To an avi file.

Many people argue that flash is not a good thing to use. Facts if you use JavaScript the 3D features are limited, source code cannot be as well protected, most complex features do not move, that fast as flash, flash can import video and audio files that I find easier to use than JavaScript. A lot of features in html 5 is not supported by every browser but will be in the future.
You can draw your images in adobe flash or another image editing software like fireworks , freehand, Photoshop, paint shop, Corel painter just to name a few. Some import better than the other. If you want to add 3D in your animation try blender it is free or you could buy Ulead 3D animator. Check for other software online.
Okay you have your software and images now you need some sound to put the voices in your animation. Buy a good microphone for your computer and a software that you can edit your voice in. Some software let you edit the sound of your voice so you can make it seem like a man, women, a very young person, robot, animal or any sound effects.
It would be great to have some music to go along with you short animated film. I believe the most popular would be fl studio. Fl studio once known as fruity loops is a digital audio workstation. You can export your sound in many formats. For your flash movie export your music and voices as a wave.

After you have completed your movie add the credits at the end and read up on how to make a preloader because sometimes your files will be so large that it will take some time for it to load on the internet. You do not want someone waiting to long to view you movie.
